Teaching Position Description
Under the supervision of the building principal, the teacher is responsible for (position TBA) for the 2025 - 2026 school year. The teacher is responsible for fostering children's spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and faith development in a vital part of their elementary school experience.

Teaching Position Requirements
Recognizes and supports the unique Catholic Mission of the school by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church;
Gives evidence of lived Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of personal faith journey; strives to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example.
Demonstrate a willingness to participate in and plan school religious and service activities to help build the school's faith community.
Demonstrate effective planning skills by preparing lessons designed to implement stated goals and objectives and by incorporating school and diocesan curriculum objectives in lesson plans.
Shows competence in teaching by demonstrating current, thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter and communicating effectively with students; organizes classroom learning materials to maximize student time on tasks and motivates student learning.
Develop and use effective methods of evaluation that are directly related to curriculum objectives and to concepts and skills taught; consistently and effectively evaluate student progress.
Have a strong belief that all children can and will be successful.
Establish a consistent disciplinary approach and classroom management that promote self-direction and positive self-image. Set high standards for student behavior and effectively manage inappropriate behavior to create and achieve a safe learning environment.
Maintain a functional, safe, and pleasant learning environment where children are expected to succeed and are supported when facing challenges.
Cooperate with school and diocesan administration; work effectively with all staff members to promote positive relationships with students and parents.
Have strong leadership skills as well as the heart of a servant.
At all times demonstrate professional responsibility in enforcing diocesan and school policies and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of information and display sound judgment in dress and general behavior.
Works collaboratively with school administration, supporting their efforts in leadership
Highly independent team player
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree.
K-5 teaching certificate preferred
Certified by the State of Colorado as a Teacher
Condition of employment will be the teacher to have completed or will complete the CDE Science of Reading training
Other Requirements
Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation
Must have a good driving record, current Colorado driver’s license, and automobile insurance
Compensation and Benefits
St. Columba teachers earn 100% of the average regional salary.
B.A. +0 years or beginning salary range is $46,000K - $48,000 annually
The full salary range across all education and experience levels is $46,000 - $61,000 annually
